Dr. Tara Long
Scott is a graduate of the Ohio College of
Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH and completed
her first podiatric residency at the Baltimore
VA Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She furthered
her training by completing a 2-year surgical
residency at Kern Hospital in Warren, MI.
Although
she specializes in conservative and surgical
treatment of the foot and
ankle, Dr. Scott has a special interest
in diabetic patient education and wound
care. She is a frequent lecturer on the
prevention and management of diabetic complications.
Dr. Scott is the Chief of Podiatry at Providence
Hospital in Southfield and was honored
by the American Business Women's Association
as Business Associate of the year in 2003.
She has also been featured in Black Enterprise
Magazine, the Michigan Chronicle, the Southfield
Eccentric and the Detroit News.
Dr.
Scott is a Fellow in the American College
of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, board
certified by the American Board of Podiatric
Surgery, a member of the American Podiatric
Medical Association and a member
of the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association,
Southeast Division. |

Dr.
Tara Long Scott was recently re-appointed
to the Michigan Board of Podiatric
Medicine and Surgery, and the Controlled
Substances Advisory Commission by Jennifer
Granholm, Governor of the State of
Michigan. She was elected as Chairperson
of the Michigan Board of Podiatric
Medicine and Surgery and is the first
African-American female podiatrist
to hold this position.

Dr. Stacey Stefansky was born and raised
in southeastern Michigan. She started
out on her education path, by completing
her undergraduate studies at Michigan
State University, earning a Bachelor
of Science majoring in human physiology.
Continuing on with her education, she
completed her Podiatric training at The
New York College of Podiatric Medicine,
and moved on to complete a three year,
podiatric surgical residency at Harvard
affiliated, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical
Center. There they specialize in treating
diabetic wounds and limb salvage procedures,
which to this day, continues to be an
interest of hers. Along with this interest
in diabetic care and limb salvage, Dr.
Stefansky also has a focus on primary
podiatric medicine and surgery. Lecturing
to community groups about these topics
along with the importance of good foot
health is a practice that she greatly
enjoys.
Dr. Stefansky is an Associate in the
American college of Foot and Ankle
Surgeons, a member of the American
Podiatric Medical Association, and
is currently qualified by the Podiatric
Surgery Board.
